Anatomic Thumb Ligament Arthroplasty System
Anika’s Anatomic Thumb Ligament Arthroplasty System (ATLAS) is an anatomic thumb carpometacarpal (CMC) reconstruction system designed to provide supplemental fixation between the first and second metacarpal bones during CMC arthroplasty. The ATLAS technique, using a suture-based anchor, corrects thumb CMC instability and enables rapid functional recovery by placing a stable, suture-based fixation at the anatomical insertion points of the thumb’s basal ligament.
Main features and benefits:
- Suspensory CMC arthroplasty requires no tendon graft
- Anatomic repair maximizes restoration of normal thumb range of motion and speeds return to activity
- A single incision reduces wound-healing issues and eliminates the risk of disrupting the dorsoradial sensory nerve
- Low-profile insertion and subcortical fixation provide a strong, stable, bone-sparing technique with 54 lbf anchor pull-out strength1
